And so a child has escaped my from my fertle womb. As it breaths its first breaths I understand that I, like god, have partook in the creation of life.
This is just a blog for me to rant about games I dont like or autistically ramble about games I do like. Esentially some kind of mock gaming journalism except I actually play the games I talk about.
Favorite games: JoJo ASBR, Deltarune, Guilty Gear Strive, Pikmin, Buckshot Roulette, Yakuza 0, Tempest
5/1/2026 - Topic: Tempest 2000 and Tomodachi Life, Living the Dream
Recently I've installed BigPEmu on my steam deck because I always wanted to play Tempest 2000 on the Atari Jaguar, and the game is GREAT. Its a really solid arcade style shooter with a great soundtrack and regarded highly as one of few good Atari Jaguar games, with a pretty compelling argument that it may be the ONLY good game on the system. At least in terms of original games it is, DOOM was ported and is a pretty solid port, but I personally dont count that as an Atari Jaguar game just on the principal of being a port and not an original title. I've had a very good time going for high scores but the game is a little confusing in my opinion, mostly just because of the pretty large disparity between good sessions and bad ones. Sometimes I can just hold left or make sweeps across the stage and auto fire and kill everyone, other times I get spawn camped by something I couldnt even see. I've gotten a pretty high score regardless and love booting the game up for a few minutes of fun before I go back to not knowing what I'm gonna do with my life and being unfulfiled and disinterested in everything I do
At last, at long fucking last, we have Nintendo aknowledging the existance of queers like me! I feel so validated and seen making a Mii that is 500 times more passable than me get married to Himeno. Now, obviously, long awaited sequel to something of a cult classic for nintendo fans, people are gonna love this game more than I love seeing unsucked girlcock. But I'm not some newgen larper fan, I OWN a physical version of the original DS game, I PLAYED that game for HOURS because I loved it to death, and part of me wants to say I prefer the original more. I've tried to gather my thoughts on why this is, and I think its partially to do with aestetics and gameplay reasons. The first two main issues I have with the game: "Shut the fuck up" and "Say something new for once". Especially in comparison to the original Tomodachi Life for the 3DS, the Miis on Living the Dream are SO much more needy it almost hurts. Theres so much going on constantly that it almost gives me whiplash. If you plug the game in, there will always be someone who needs something, I turn the game on for the first time in the morning and I see like 5 or 6 Miis need my help in an island of less than 10. I think the game relies too much on the fun that YOU make, rather than having the Miis doing things themselves. I think that a lot of people's fear of the player having "too much agency" or being to vital to the goings on was realized to some extent, I wish the Miis would do more on their own. And the amount of times Miis will want to interact with you segways into my next talking point, I only put like 10-20 hours into the game so far, and it already feels like I've seen the majority of the game's content. Maybe the algorithm for actions and stuff is just shit but I got a LOT of repeated content. I dont know if this would still hold up if I went back to the original game but I get the feeling it wouldnt because it felt like every day I logged in I saw something new, but that may be rose tinted nostalgia goggles at work. I still think the game got a bit repetitive WAYYY too quickly for its own good.
My second complaint: "Stop trying to make this animal crossing". I think the island system and house builder, while fun additions, kinda take away from the game. I think the island system of the original is just a bit better, maybe its just because I'm not super fond of these kinds of island building mechanics and never get much out of them but I dont think it really adds much to the actual game in the ways of making it more "Tomodachi Life", plus I think the new aestetics just dont feel like Tomodachi life. Its all just a bit generic and lifeless compared to the original.
Thirdly: "Stop being a pussy Nintendo". If you're gonna make a game, in 2026, without profanity filters, dont try and cover your ass by disabling sending screenshots to your phone. If I'm not misaken this is the only game that does this, but like, why?????? And you know what? This doesnt disable screenshots, this just disables sending them to your phone, theoretically you could just as easily copy the raw screenshot files over to your pc or phone using an adaptor. WHY THE FUCK DID THEY DISABLE SENDING SCREENSHOTS THEN? Whats the point when it can be easily circumvented, its just more inconvenient? Also as an oldgen, the fact they removed the concert hall was likely another pussy attempt to cover their ass, but I'm still mad they removed it when I would've been very okay with literally just the original one but ported to Living the Dream. I remember having a song called "The balad of EEEEEE" which was Beef Boss singing the opera song, but every line was the maximum allowed characters for just the letter E (please forggive me for being so unfunny, this was the peak of the dank meme era). Overall I just think the game is too reliant on you creating your own fun, rather than the spontaniousness of the original game which was less in your control. I really think the game would be one of the best switch releases of all time if it was just more like the original.
I think thats about it though, I dont really have much to say anymore. I've become rather disillusioned with my hobbies and a lot of games, nothing much interests me anymore. Maybe I just need to meet people...
Whatever. Have good one, see ya.
3/15/2026 - Topic: Team Fortress 2 and Pikmin 2
Its happened again, I'm being sucked back into tf2. I can already feel the game eating away at my life and free time. I got back into it almost as a joke thinking I'd be just as disinterested as last time, but I've just relearned why IGN called this game "the most fun you can have online". I've been really loving playing scout and even sold a few items to get myself a new all-class loadout that goes CRAZY. Its just really fun to run around and be a dumbass sometimes, and experimenting with his unlocks is super fun. While for the first chunk of getting back into the game I was mostly locking myself to stock and the pretty girl's pocket pistol, the shortstop and crit-a-cola are REDICULOUSLY fun to snipe people with, and the babyface, flying gilloutine, and wrap assassin is basically the clossest you can get to pre-nerf babyface without using mods. Its all been making me super excited to try out the other weapons and for basically the first time in my life I dont really care about my K/D ratio being hardstuck 1:2 every match I play because the kills I DO get are actually super fun. I've really forgotten how fun this game is and I think the regular cycle of "blowing my entire load in one month and being too bored to play it for 3 months" really helps in this regard, I probably wouldnt be enjoying it the way I did now if I didnt repeat this cycle of long ass breaks.
The debt is finally repaid in pikmin 2! I completed one of the wistful wilds caves (cant remember which one) but I'm close to beating it! ^w^ My only real problem is that I've gotten a little bored of it and feel a bit directionless, I'm kinda unsure where to go from here. I dont really have much motivation to play it and I havent really in awhile. Part of the problem is real life shit and tf2 are sucking me away from almost all other hobbies I have lmao. I dont get much time to myself anymore, at least not to my hobbies because what little time I do have to myself gets squandered playing the funny hat game and trading. God I am not excited to get a job this summer... -w- I really wish I could just be an internet princess forever and not have to deal with this kind of stuff... I keep getting stressed about the future and the prospect of not having any time to myself anymore, its been really fucking me up in recent. I'm hoping I can find a job though, I do like the whole "having money" part and will probably totally drop my entire paycheck on tf2 items.
Anyways thats about it, just wanted to dust off this old page and write something to pretend I'm being productive. Have a good one, see ya.
2/8/2026 - Topic: Marvel Rivals and Pikmin 2
As I try and work to start a streaming career, I've realized that I will have to swallow my pride and play games that are bad just for views. This is most applicable to the competitive hero shooter genre, which is VERY popular for streaming despite most modern hero shooters being... a steaming pile of dog shit that was left out in the hot summer. While you caan tell I have an obvious bias, I actually liked Marvel Rivals quite a bit. Since starting playing I've put 7 hours into Deadpool alone, and I really enjoy playing him. But theres one pretty major problem; the gameplay loop is fucking boring. In only the 7 hours the gameplay loop got stale and I think its because theres very little gratifiaction or reward for playing well, the feedback for getting a kill is pretty minimal and doesnt feel rewarding at all. Plus there are only like 2 gamemodes and they get repetitive quick, it just gets super boring and almost feels aimless, it feels like my brain is on autopilot most matches.
PIKMIN 2 however IS quite fun and enjoyable, I've been playing it on dolphin emulator on my steam deck, and its been great! I havent got very far yet (I'm just about to unlock blue pikmin) but I enjoy it a lot. Its definetly more difficult than pikmin 3, feels a little outdated control wise, and could use the refinements to the captain system pikmin 3 had, but overall its a good game by all accounts! The graphics are actually quite good for the time, and they feel more stylized than outdated IMO and I'd go as far to say they're my second favorite after pikmin 3. I also think I like collecting treasure the best out of all the 3 different types of pikmin gameplay loop, its the most fun and rewarding. I like that the juice system is more impactful to your gameplay but to some extent it essentially becomes a non issue if you arent a dandori dumbass. I'm definetly gonna play it more (maybe this time I'll actually beat it XD) and having it portably on the deck definetly does wonders for my motivation to play and my playtime.
Anyways thats all I had to say, just wanted to add something to the blog for today so I yapped about nothing for awhile. Hope you have a good day, see you next time I write
1/3/2026 - Topic: Steam Deck and Yakuza 0
I just got my new steam deck recently and holy shit I'm so glad I finally bit the bullet and bought one, I've been sitting on the fence about getting one for about a year or 2 now but I'm so sad I didnt get it sooner. I've loved every second of using this thing despite how aged the hardware is, probably because the main collection of games I enjoy are all decades old or indies... -w- It's also helping me clear out my backlog a bit by letting me play older titles more convinently, specifically yakuza 0. I hadnt given the game a fair shot before, mostly because I had controller issues on pc. Now I've tripled my lifetime hours in the game just since I got the steam deck. I'm still trying to iron out some kinks to get retro emulators working but honestly I dont need that even, my steam and epic library is more than enough to ensure I never have to think again and can just be ouppy :3c
Not enough people talk about these games for what they are, which is batshit insane nonsense with minigames that are more captivating than the story. A friend bought me it on a whime because they're a munancho-cell (thank you bestie ily mwah :3c) and like I said I never really gave it a fair shot on pc. Being able to just pick up and play for a few seconds on deck is genuinely a lifesaver and system seller feature, I would not invest nearly as much time into it if I were on pc just because of the hassle of connecting my controller and a stupid issue I had where the right stick directions were rotated????? Whenever I'd move it up it'd look left and whenever I'd move it right it'd look down???? Long story short I've been loving PocketRacer 0 and all the stupid side distractions. So far my favorite style is breaker because it doesnt require paying attention to anything or having skill, I can just spam the basic xxxxy combo and "where did the enemies go?". The story is not really doing much for me, honestly its almost like side content because I spend more time than not on the mini games and pocket racer.
Anyways thats all I have to say, just wanted to yap a bit and finally update the blog. I've really neglected this page, havent updated it since last year. Thanks for reading, hope you have a good new year, and see you next time.
11/13/2025 - Topic: Pikmin and Valve
I am hyped as FUCK for the new valve GabeCube and I'm not really sure why, I have no intention of buying it nor the money and I already have a PC that does the same. For context valve just dropped 3 new pieces of hardware on us on a random Wednesday (fuck that word I hate spelling it XD). Thats right, valve CAN count to 3 after all. They're releasing a new VR headset that I'll probably never breathe the same air as because I'm not a nepo baby youtube VR enthusiast, with how expensive the Index is I doubt my brokeass will ever even see these things cause my bank account is only 5 digits long, and thats counting decimals. However the two other pieces of hardware do seem interesting and may actually be within my price range.
The new Steam Controller (Yes, the name was so good they had to use it a second time) looks slightly uncomfortable to hold but dear god that is completely outweighed by being essentially the only first-party hall effect controller on the market. Technically it uses some other type of switchless stick mechanism that isnt hall effect, but they're essentailly the same thing to the average consumer, longer hardware life expectancy = good! Its esentially like a reverse PS4 controller, where the touchpad is on the bottom instead of the top. Other than that I cant say anything bad about it, looks pretty solid.
The Steam Machine is really making me hyped and again I dont know why. I dont really need it because I'm already a PC masterrace member and I likely wont be able to buy it because they'll probably be expensive as shit. But like... I still totally want one lmao XD. I really like the interchangeable faceplates, especially the sticker collage one shown in the reveal trailer, it reminded me of Splatoon 3. Speaking of Nintendo games, this thing will probably be an all in one emulator box because its 5~ times as powerful as a SteamDeck which could already run NINTENDO SWITCH GAMES! I'd probably buy this little guy if I had the money or really any reason to aside from the impulse purchase, but my sights are on the steam deck instead. I already have a decently powerful PC that can emulate all the games I want, what I want personally is the ability to take those games on the go and not have to sit at my desk with the posture of a goddamn prawn while I play Doshin the Giant on Dolphin. Once I get my payday for doing kettlework a Steam Deck is as good as mine.
I've been kinda manic about pikmin recently, I guess its the new "Hyperfixate on this for a month then get bored of it forever" media. The DLC mission mode in Pikmin 3 is genuinely so fun it did the impossible, it made me want to play pikmin 2 and 4. While the new update for pikmin 4 may actually make it fun I still plan on making minimal use of Oatchii, and the 3 type limit was never changed so I dont know how much I'll enjoy it but at least its more content. Pikmin 3, 2, and 1 are definetly first on the chopping block to try my emulation machine on when I do get my hands on a steam deck. I hope for christmas I get something nice, I'd ask santa for Pikmin 3 Deluxe for switch but I'm scared he'll throw all of my other presents in the fireplace if I do.
Anyways thats about all I have in the way of derranged valve and Pikmin ramblings, I'm quite excited to try out all the new stuff thats coming up on both fronts. Thanks for reading my blog and I'll see you next time theres something to talk about.
